Stretching across the borders of Zimbabwe and Zambia, the thunderous Victoria Falls is a destination of its own. Nearby, flanked by the Masuwe River and the Zambezi, the Elephant Camp offers mesmerising views of the mile-long curtain of water, as well as of the gorges that split the two countries.
Hidden away on its own private game reserve, the intimate camp offers guests an authentic safari experience, with 12 luxurious tents housing up to 24 guests. The roar of gushing water can be heard from the tents’ private viewing decks, each of which features a plunge pool and a dinner table for two, plus an outdoor shower and a bathtub with a view.
Guests can take part in community and conservation activities, from helping look after elephants to visiting the Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust. There’s also the chance to meet local Zimbabweans who live a traditional farming lifestyle.
