THE PRIZE
National Geographic Traveller (UK) is celebrating the release of new film SAMSARA by offering you and a guest the chance to win an eight-day trip on Trafalgar’s Highlights of Turkey itinerary. Highlights will include the famous Blue Mosque, the Byzantine Hippodrome and the bustling markets of Istanbul. Step back in time with a trip to the temples and Great Theatre of the ancient city of Ephesus, before plunging into the thermal pools in Pamukkale, then visiting a replica of the iconic Wooden Horse in Troy and the old silk market of Bursa. Accompanied by an expert travel director, you’ll be given a local’s insight to this rich and ancient land.

SAMSARA, in cinemas from 31 August, reunites director Ron Fricke and producer Mark Magidson, whose award-winning films Baraka and Chronos were acclaimed for combining visual and musical artistry. Filmed over nearly five years in 25 countries — including Turkey — SAMSARA transports us to sacred grounds, disaster zones and natural wonders, exploring the wonders of our world from the mundane to the miraculous through powerful images pristinely photographed in 70mm.

One lucky reader will win two economy return flights with Turkish Airlines from Birmingham, Edinburgh, Gatwick, Heathrow or Manchester to Istanbul, seven nights on a B&B basis, some meals including a farewell dinner in Istanbul, in-country transportation and sightseeing, as part of Trafalgar’s Highlights of Turkey itinerary.

The competition closes on 20 August 2012 at 5pm.
The winner must be over 18 and the trip and flights are subject to availability.

Terms and conditions

The prize is valid for guests aged 18 and over.
The prize must be taken between 1 April and 30 June 2013.
The prize must be booked at least two months prior to departure.
It is based on two people sharing a double or twin room and includes bed and breakfast accommodation, four three-course meals and a farewell dinner in Istanbul, travel by luxury coach and ferry crossings where required. Also includes sightseeing and free time to explore at leisure.
Prize includes two return tickets with Turkish Airlines to Istanbul from any UK airport which Turkish Airlines fly from.
Transfers or any other costs/expenses incurred by the winner are not included.
Winner must arrange their own travel insurance and have valid passports and necessary visas.
The prize is non-transferable and non-refundable, and is subject to availability.
There is no cash alternative.
The competition is open to residents of the UK. Entrants must be over the age of 18. The competition is not open to employees and associates of Trafalgar, Turkish Airlines, the Turkish Culture and Tourism Office or Absolute Publishing Ltd, or their families. Closing date is 20 August 2012 at 17:00 GMT. The promoter is Absolute Publishing Ltd, 197-199 City Road, London, EC1V 1JN. Winners will be notified within 10 days of closing and details of the competition winners will be published in the October edition of National Geographic Traveller (UK) 2012.
